Privé is an independent magazine dedicated to the people, places, objects and ideas shaping contemporary luxury.

Our editorial work is guided by curiosity, accuracy, independence and respect for our readers.

This Editorial Policy explains how we select stories, work with sources and brands, use third-party material and distinguish independent editorial coverage from commercial partnerships.

1. Editorial independence

Editorial decisions at Privé are made by Privé.

Brands, advertisers, PR agencies, manufacturers, destinations and commercial partners do not receive automatic editorial coverage in exchange for advertising, access, hospitality, products or other benefits.

A commercial relationship does not guarantee favourable editorial treatment.

Similarly, the absence of a commercial relationship does not prevent a brand, person, property or project from being covered.

2. What we cover

Privé focuses on subjects including:

  • automotive culture
  • yachts and life at sea
  • private aviation
  • architecture and estates
  • hotels and travel
  • design and objects
  • watches and collectibles
  • art and culture
  • hospitality and experiences
  • people and conversations

Our interest is not defined by price alone.

We look for character, craftsmanship, relevance, design, innovation, heritage, culture and stories worth telling.

3. Story selection

Privé does not aim to cover every launch, product or announcement.

Stories are selected according to editorial judgement.

Considerations may include:

  • originality
  • relevance
  • quality
  • craftsmanship
  • innovation
  • cultural significance
  • design
  • access
  • timeliness
  • visual strength
  • reader interest
  • strength of the underlying story

The fact that a product or experience belongs to the luxury market is not, by itself, sufficient reason for publication.

4. Accuracy

Privé aims to publish factual information that is accurate at the time of publication.

Depending on the subject, information may be checked against:

  • direct interviews
  • manufacturer information
  • official press materials
  • primary sources
  • auction houses
  • public records
  • event organisers
  • official company information
  • specialist sources
  • first-hand experience

Where a fact is uncertain or disputed, we aim to represent that uncertainty appropriately.

5. Press releases and brand information

Privé regularly receives information from brands, manufacturers, PR agencies and communications teams.

Press releases are treated as sources rather than automatically as finished editorial content.

Where appropriate, information may be independently checked, contextualised, rewritten or combined with additional reporting.

The receipt of a press release does not guarantee publication.

6. Corrections

We aim to correct material factual errors when they are brought to our attention.

Minor changes involving spelling, grammar, formatting or stylistic improvements may be made without a formal correction notice.

Where an error materially changes the meaning or factual substance of a story, Privé may add an appropriate clarification or correction.

Corrections may be reported to:

info@privemag.com

7. Updates

Articles may be updated when:

  • new information becomes available
  • prices or specifications are clarified
  • an auction concludes
  • a project develops
  • an event takes place
  • a factual correction becomes necessary

Significant new developments may also be covered in a separate article rather than added to an existing story.

8. Sources and attribution

Privé aims to attribute significant information appropriately.

Sources may include named individuals, companies, official documents, press materials and other credible information providers.

Anonymous or confidential sources may be used where there is a legitimate editorial reason for protecting their identity and where the information can be responsibly assessed.

Privé does not knowingly fabricate quotations or intentionally misrepresent the views of a source.

9. Interviews

Interview subjects may be given an indication of the proposed topic or editorial context before an interview.

Unless specifically agreed in advance, participation in an interview does not automatically give the interviewee editorial control over the finished article.

Fact-checking individual technical details or quotations may be permitted where appropriate without transferring editorial control.

10. Images and visual material

Privé places significant importance on visual storytelling.

Images used by the publication may include:

  • original photography produced for Privé
  • images commissioned by Privé
  • official press photography
  • manufacturer media images
  • photographs supplied by PR agencies
  • material supplied by hotels, yacht builders or operators
  • auction-house imagery
  • licensed third-party photography
  • other imagery lawfully available for editorial use

We aim to verify that visual material is appropriate for the intended editorial use.

11. Image credits

Third-party images are credited according to the requirements and information supplied by the rights holder, licensor, photographer or provider.

Typical credits may include the photographer, brand, manufacturer, auction house, agency or wording such as "Courtesy of".

If a rights holder believes that an image has been incorrectly attributed or used outside the relevant permission, they may contact:

info@privemag.com

Privé will review legitimate rights enquiries promptly.

12. Image manipulation

Standard editorial adjustments such as cropping, resizing, colour correction and formatting may be made where they do not materially misrepresent documentary content.

Material alterations that could cause readers to misunderstand an image as an accurate documentary representation should be avoided or appropriately identified.

13. Artificial intelligence

Privé may use artificial intelligence and other digital tools to assist aspects of its editorial workflow.

These tools may be used for purposes including:

  • research organisation
  • transcription
  • translation
  • language editing
  • headline development
  • summarisation of source material
  • structuring drafts
  • administrative and production tasks

AI-assisted tools do not replace editorial responsibility.

Material facts intended for publication should be verified against reliable sources where appropriate.

Final responsibility for published content remains with Privé.

Privé does not knowingly publish fabricated AI-generated information as verified fact.

14. AI-generated and synthetic imagery

Privé may use generated or digitally created imagery in appropriate creative contexts.

Where synthetic or AI-generated imagery could reasonably be mistaken for documentary photography or an image of a real event, person, product or place, it should be clearly identified where necessary to avoid misleading readers.

AI imagery should not be used to falsely document an event that did not occur.

15. Reviews

Privé may review or feature:

  • cars
  • hotels
  • restaurants
  • yachts
  • aircraft
  • watches
  • products
  • properties
  • travel experiences
  • exhibitions
  • events
  • services

Reviews and features reflect the editorial judgement of Privé or the relevant contributor.

A brand or provider does not receive a guarantee of positive coverage.

16. Product loans

Manufacturers and brands may lend products to Privé for testing, photography or editorial evaluation.

This can include vehicles, watches, objects or other products.

Unless otherwise agreed, loaned products remain the property of the provider and are returned at the end of the agreed period.

Providing a product does not guarantee coverage.

17. Press vehicles

Automotive manufacturers, importers or agencies may provide vehicles to Privé for editorial testing or production.

Privé may publish its own observations and conclusions.

The provision of a vehicle does not guarantee a positive review or any publication at all.

18. Hotels and travel

Hotels, tourism organisations, airlines and other travel partners may occasionally provide accommodation, transport, experiences or access for editorial purposes.

Where such support is material to understanding the context of a story, Privé may disclose that the experience was hosted or supported.

Complimentary accommodation does not guarantee positive coverage.

19. Yachts and private aviation

Yacht builders, brokers, charter companies, aircraft manufacturers and aviation operators may provide Privé with access to yachts, aircraft, facilities, demonstrations or events.

Such access is treated as an opportunity for editorial reporting and does not transfer editorial control to the provider.

20. Events and press trips

Privé may accept invitations to launches, previews, exhibitions, automotive events, yacht shows, watch fairs, press trips and other industry events.

An invitation or hosted experience does not guarantee publication.

Where material travel or hospitality has been provided, disclosure may be made where appropriate.

21. Gifts

Occasional gifts, samples or promotional items may be received from companies or PR agencies.

Gifts do not create an obligation to publish content and do not guarantee favourable treatment.

Privé reserves the right to decline or return items where appropriate.

22. Sponsored content

Privé may produce commercially supported content.

Paid or sponsored editorial-style content should be identified in an understandable manner.

Depending on the format, disclosures may include:

  • Sponsored
  • Partner Content
  • Paid Partnership
  • In Collaboration With
  • Presented By

The terminology may vary according to the nature of the partnership and platform.

23. Advertising

Advertising is separate from independent editorial decision-making.

Privé reserves the right to reject advertising or partnerships that do not fit the publication's identity, audience or standards.

The purchase of advertising does not entitle an advertiser to independent editorial coverage.

24. Brand partnerships

Privé may collaborate with selected brands on original content, events, campaigns or special projects.

Commercial partnerships should be structured so that readers can distinguish them appropriately from independent editorial coverage.

We prefer partnerships that create genuine editorial or creative value rather than simply adding promotional messaging to the publication.

25. Affiliate relationships

Privé does not currently base its standard editorial operation on affiliate links.

If affiliate relationships are introduced, this commercial relationship will be disclosed where appropriate.

The potential for affiliate revenue should not determine independent editorial recommendations.

26. Conflicts of interest

Privé contributors are expected to disclose relevant financial, commercial or personal interests that could materially affect their editorial independence.

Contributors should not accept undisclosed payment from the subject of independent editorial coverage in exchange for favourable treatment.

27. Contributors

Writers, photographers, filmmakers and other contributors working with Privé are expected to follow the principles of this Editorial Policy.

Commissioned contributors remain responsible for the accuracy and integrity of material they submit, subject to Privé's editorial review.

28. Embargoes

Privé may receive information before its public release under embargo.

Where Privé explicitly accepts a reasonable embargo, we aim to respect the agreed publication date and time.

Receiving embargoed material does not guarantee that Privé will publish a story.

29. Unsolicited submissions

Brands, PR agencies, creators and readers may submit story ideas and press information to Privé.

Privé is under no obligation to publish unsolicited submissions or respond individually to every proposal.

Editorial decisions remain entirely with Privé.

30. Independence from subjects

Privé aims to maintain constructive relationships with the industries it covers while retaining the ability to make independent editorial decisions.

Access is valuable.

Editorial independence is more important.

31. Reader trust

Privé's long-term value depends on the trust of its readers.

We therefore aim to distinguish clearly between journalism, opinion, commercial partnerships and advertising, while producing work that is accurate, thoughtful and worth the reader's time.
